Kevin began his career as a Quality Engineer (STC Telecommunications) working on products used in extreme operating conditions such as Oil Exploration and Battlefield Communications.

He then progressed to lead 2 separate organisations to achieve Quality systems accreditation under ISO and Ford Q1 standards as a route to reducing quality defects and operating costs. As Quality Manager he helped companies within the Wilkinson Sword Group to raise supplier network and customer service performance and supported Continuous Improvement programmes across 4 European locations. His success was such that he moved into a Product Assurance Management role in the medical supplies industry applying techniques such as FMEA, QFD and DoE to optimise product and production process design, responsible for the Quality, Technical and Regulatory departments.

He joined the Cranfield Manufacturing Business Consultancy (Senior Consultant), where he built on his experience as a continuous improvement coach and facilitator to widen his exposure to World Class Manufacturing techniques. Projects included coaching multi site, multi national continuous improvement programmes and supporting the Foundation and Industrial phases of Cranfield’s Fellowship in Manufacturing Management. He continues to Lecture Business Process Improvement on this programme.

Recruited to part of the RHM group as a key member of the divisions Operational Excellence programme. He coached the management team to improve management control over this dynamic, labour intensive business sector and worked "hands on" with first line managers to develop their ability to improve shop floor practices. Effectiveness improved by more than 25% and waste was reduced by around 10% despite the relocation of half of its operations and the impact of a major fire, which disrupted around a third of its production capability. He then progressed to head of planning whilst retaining his role as improvement coach across 3 business units.
